Chatting Liquity V2

@EFDevcon provided multiple opportunities for Liquity AG’s Head of Product, @colingplatt to highlight the design behind Liquity V2 and how it fits into the wider stablecoin landscape.

At @stable_summit , the audience was treated to a quick overview of how to set your interest rate when minting $BOLD on the testnet UI 👀

This put V2’s main value proposition for users, turning them into rate makers rather than rate takers, on full display.

On Day 2 of DevCon, we were joined by @coinbase , @Dialectic_Group , and @gyrostable to discuss the risks and rewards of stablecoin yields. Understanding where the yield comes from and how it could all go south is critical to determining which stablecoins to hold onto or provide liquidity to, and it deeply informs the design tradeoffs and implementation choices made for BOLD.

Friendly Forks and Integrations 🍴

Work is underway on well over ten friendly forks of Liquity V2, and DevCon provided an opportunity to meet with both confirmed and prospective teams.
As a result, the Liquity community can look forward to liquidity incentives on even more up-and-coming networks throughout Q1 👀

ETH Global Hackathon ⛓️

We’re grateful for all the submissions, and are excited to announce our winners for the Liquity prizes - @LuniChan by @0xMiguelBits and snack snack by @taayyohh

LuniChan plans to utilize @Uniswap V4 hooks with to enable leveraged swaps, boosting demand for BOLD and incentivizing ETH/BOLD liquidity deposits on Uniswap. Additionally, LuniChan plans to offer automated position management, allowing users to auto-repay or auto-boost their positions based on thresholds they set.

Snack Snack is a savings game where players care for a pet while saving to launch an Ethereum validator. With their proposed Liquity integration, users can borrow against ETH or stake BOLD to earn yield, ensuring funds remain secure while also unlocking interest-bearing strategies.
