What is Wayfinder

In April '23, Stanford researchers detailed a case study with 25 AI players simulating humans in an RPG town. Inspired by this, the creators of the @ParallelTCG trading card game began developing a separate, AI-centric game, leading to the upcoming @ParallelColony.

The aim was to create a game where human players interact with AI agents that learn, gather resources onchain, and engage with each other.

The Parallel team developed the @AIWayfinder platform, their custom AI infrastructure. Currently in closed alpha, Wayfinder is chain-agnostic and will support onchain agents across networks like Ethereum and Solana. Though initially built for Colony, it’s designed for use cases beyond gaming.

How Wayfinder works

In the Wayfinder ecosystem, users can spin up agents to interact with blockchain apps on their behalf, using natural language to swap, mint, bridge, etc., instead of manual clicks.

Wayfinder uses Wayfinding Paths — predefined workflows guiding agents to achieve specific onchain goals, like executing crosschain DeFi yield strategies.

This approach builds a growing knowledge graph, acting as a collective memory for agents to self-improve, avoid repeated mistakes, and streamline decision-making.

At the heart of it all is $PROMPT, the upcoming native gas token of Wayfinder. The token can be staked to propose and maintain Wayfinding Paths, with rewards from new path bounties or usage fees. $PROMPT will also likely be used to buy premium agent features, like expanded storage...
