Spooky day is coming, and lets see what we can dig out from the Web3 ecosystem:
👻Aavegotchis are cute, ghost-like digital characters that live in a gaming world. They represent the spirits of people who lost their assets while yield farming, making them a fun and engaging way to learn about DeFi.
Backed by the $Aave protocol and developed by Pixelcraft Studios, Aavegotchi combines the excitement of gaming with real-world finance. Each Aavegotchi is brought to life by Spirit Force, which comes from aTokens (interest-earning tokens from $Aave). These tokens allow Aavegotchis to generate passive income while players interact with them in the game.
When it comes to community control, @aavegotchi DAO is on a path toward full decentralization. It’s currently in its second phase, called Cocoon, where players can submit proposals and vote on key decisions. Eventually, players will have the power to manage game mechanics and assets as the DAO evolves. The end goal is for the game to be fully governed by the community, with $GHST rewards distributed based on governance.
While $GHST holders don’t get rewards just for voting yet, they can still earn tokens through gameplay. $GHST can be traded for other cryptocurrencies or used to increase your Aavegotchi’s Spirit Force, which, in turn, earns more yield. This creates a rewarding cycle: earn $GHST, increase Spirit Force, gain more rewards, and reinvest to enhance your Aavegotchi even further.
The demand for $GHST is driven by in-game activities and the value players place on Aavegotchi NFTs. Additionally, $GHST is burned during transactions like buying portals and wearables, which reduces the supply and helps maintain its value over time. This balance between demand and supply helps create a sustainable ecosystem.
Goverland team’s friendly reminder: $GHST holders can vote in AavegotchiDAO using our app @goverland_xyz. And for the curious, we’ve prepared some extra insights:
For example, now, with our new voting power distribution chart in USD, you can see how the Aavegotchi community is participating. Most voting power falls between $256 and $33,000 USD, showing a good mix of casual players and bigger holders. It’s not just the big fish making all the decisions!
Month-by-month breakdown of active voters, distinguishing between returning and new voters, voting frequency, how voting power is distributed - you can check it all out on the Goverland App, where we show how voting power is distributed.
Go ahead, get involved, and watch your Aavegotchi thrive. Happy governing, folks! 🍀
