On January 3, 2009, Satoshi Nakamoto mined the very first block of Bitcoin, or the Genesis Block, kicking off a new era of decentralized finance.

In the Genesis Block, Satoshi inscribed a message that read:

“The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks.”
