What makes or breaks a blockchain? In a recent @Forbes article, @gavofyork shared his5⃣key criteria for evaluating blockchain quality.
Here are his thoughts:
💪RESILIENCE 💪
The backbone of Web3. By combining cryptography, decentralization, and game theory, it ensures a blockchain’s security against attacks and guarantees its long-term stability.
🌐GENERALITY🌐
Generality reflects a blockchain’s ability to support diverse applications and programmability. The more flexible and adaptable a network, the more possibilities it unlocks for developers and users alike.
🌟PERFORMANCE 🌟
Performance measures how efficiently a network processes and finalizes tasks. @Polkadot can optimize by scaling horizontally, which means further decentralization + with more validators in order to make the network operate faster. (Notably different to both #Ethereum and #Solana)
🧩ACCESSIBILITY🧩
How easy is it for users, developers, applications, and bots to interact with a network? The more accessible the network, the more widespread its adoption can be.
🔊COHERENCE 🔊
Coherence is a system’s ability to maintain fast and consistent communication across its network. Without coherence, performance and user experience can suffer. A unified system is essential for smooth operation.
