The U.S. Department of Justice has requested that Google sell its Chrome browser and cease interference with its artificial intelligence investments. According to court documents, the Department still demands that Google divest its web browser Chrome but no longer requires it to divest its artificial intelligence investments. This demand was first made during President Biden's administration, but during Trump's second term, the Department seems to still adhere to this plan. The U.S. Department of Justice and the attorneys general of 38 states have filed an antitrust lawsuit against Google, with Judge Amit P. Mehta ruling that Google maintains its monopoly in the online search space through illegal means. Google has stated that it will appeal the ruling and has proposed an alternative solution, stating that it will provide more flexibility to partners to address Judge Mehta's concerns.
