Clique is a consensus mechanism used by GraphLinq Chain, designed to enhance transaction speed and security while maintaining decentralization.
In Clique, designated validators, or "authorities," are tasked with validating transactions and adding new blocks to the chain.
Unlike other consensus algorithms like proof-of-work (PoW) or proof-of-stake (PoS), Clique does not rely on miners for transaction validation or block addition. This responsibility falls to the designated authorities.
To add a new block, an authority proposes a block and broadcasts it to the network. The other authorities then validate the proposal and vote to accept or reject it. If enough authorities agree, the block is added to the chain and becomes part of the permanent ledger.
