Ripple Labs has partnered with South Korean custodian BDACS to offer institutional-grade custody for $XRP, $RLUSD, and other crypto assets. Announced on February 26, this strategic partnership will integrate Ripple Custody into BDACS, enhancing security for financial institutions in South Korea. Ripple's president, Monica Long, emphasized the importance of institutional-grade custody amid rising enterprise interest in crypto. The partnership aligns with South Korea's regulatory roadmap for institutional crypto participation and aims to expand Ripple's ecosystem and stablecoin usability. BDACS CEO Harry Ryoo highlighted the commitment to secure infrastructure for institutional adoption. Ripple Custody anticipates the total custodied cryptocurrencies to reach $16 trillion by 2030. Additionally, Ripple Labs plans to develop an institutional DeFi ecosystem on the $XRP Ledger, including a decentralized exchange, lending protocol, and new token standard.
