VanEck's research director: Strategic Bitcoin reserves will help the U.S. ensure dominance in energy infrastructure, AI, and the crypto sector.

Matthew Sigel, Head of Digital Assets Research at VanEck, commented on X regarding the establishment of a strategic Bitcoin reserve in the United States, stating: "Why is this a good idea? A Bitcoin reserve can convey a symbolic message of leadership and innovation while providing a financial hedge against a future we cannot control 100%."

Believing that it indicates fear of a weakening dollar is a loser’s mindset, suggesting that we should take no action to hedge against foreigners' dissatisfaction with U.S. debt due to rising interest rates and deficits, for fear that the market may interpret urgency as fear.

Bitcoin is digital gold—an anonymous global asset without an issuer who can seize or dilute its value. The most likely way to achieve this is through a push from the U.S. government.

Finally, Bitcoin mining incentivizes the development of domestic energy infrastructure, including renewable energy, nuclear power, and grid resilience projects. This aligns with the strategic goals of U.S. energy independence and sustainability.

With a strategic Bitcoin reserve, the U.S. would simultaneously ensure its dominance in energy infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and Bitcoin.
