According to Fortune, Marc Andreessen, co-founder of a16z, recently discussed the work priorities of the U.S. government's efficiency department (DOGE) on a podcast, stating that the department plans to increase the number of days federal employees spend in the office. Currently, federal office buildings in Washington D.C. have an average occupancy rate of only 25%. He mentioned that some federal agencies allow employees to work remotely, with some employees only coming to the office one or two days a month. Andreessen questioned whether this model meets the requirements of federal employment and pointed out that DOGE has proposed "innovative ideas" to reduce government spending and optimize regulations. Previously, Trump advisors Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy suggested cutting $2 trillion in spending by reducing government waste, but the relevant plans are still in the proposal stage.
