According to reports, South Korean blockchain company Wemade is currently embroiled in a lawsuit with 27 former employees over performance bonus disputes, with these employees demanding payment of $Wemix token bonuses valued at approximately 16.10 billion Korean Won (about 127 million USD). It is reported that these employees are developers from the subsidiary Wemade Tree, who participated in the issuance and listing of the $Wemix token in 2020. The plaintiffs claim that the company had promised to distribute token rewards based on a three-year tenure standard, with relevant emails as evidence. However, Wemade denies having signed any verbal agreements, stating only that they discussed the reward plan but were unable to implement it due to ambiguities in regulatory and accounting standards, as well as the potential risk of criminal liability for management.
