FTX co-founder Ryan Salame's prison sentence has been reduced by one year. Salame was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison for his involvement in a conspiracy to transfer funds without authorization, which has now been reduced to 6.5 years. The reasons for this adjustment are unclear, but it may be related to good behavior under the First Step Act of 2018. FTX is preparing for a restructuring and repayment to creditors, having hired Kraken and BitGo to assist with the distribution of funds. Other FTX executives are also facing varying prison terms due to the collapse of the exchange.
