According to Business Insider, the prison sentence of former FTX executive Ryan Salame has been reduced, with his new release date set for March 2031, shortening his original 7.5-year sentence by about one year. Salame began serving his sentence in October of this year after pleading guilty to charges related to the billions of dollars fraud case involving SBF. He was sentenced for conspiracy related to illegal campaign contributions and unlicensed money transmission. It is reported that Salame's sentence adjustment is related to the First Step Act of 2018, which allows compliant inmates to earn up to 54 days off their sentence per year.
