Beam Network will become a Layer 1 blockchain after the Etna upgrade.

$Beam Network will evolve into a Layer 1 blockchain following the Etna upgrade. According to $Beam's official announcement, the Etna upgrade is set to be implemented with the passing of the Avalanche community proposal ACP-77, affecting all subnets, including $Beam Network. After the upgrade, $Beam Network will officially be referred to as a Layer 1 blockchain network, as it will free itself from more restrictions of the Avalanche network while still benefiting from its infrastructure.
