According to the Financial Times, a16z co-founder Marc Andreessen is assisting in high-level recruitment for the Department of Government Efficiency "DOGE" being established by U.S. President-elect Donald Trump. Sources say that Andreessen is recommending candidates for the department co-led by Elon Musk and Republican figure Vivek Ramaswamy, leveraging his Silicon Valley network to aid in recruitment. Although he holds no formal position in DOGE, he has become a key participant in the talent search for this new department. Previously, Andreessen and his fund have supported several of Musk's projects, including SpaceX and xAI, and he has publicly backed Trump's presidential campaign.
