Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, hinted at a possible collaboration with Ripple, focusing on decentralized finance (DeFi), stablecoins, and the integration of Midnight. Midnight is a privacy sidechain developed by IOHK, designed to enhance blockchain privacy through zero-knowledge proofs. During an unexpected AMA session, Hoskinson expressed optimism about the synergies between Cardano and $XRP, particularly in terms of liquidity and DeFi. He mentioned the possibility of adding DeFi components to $XRP and discussed potential cross-chain integration. Hoskinson also revealed that he had discussions with Ripple's CTO David Schwartz and his team, with preliminary plans to integrate Midnight into the $XRP Ledger. The goal of Midnight is to address the issue of sensitive data exposure in blockchain through private smart contracts. Furthermore, Hoskinson mentioned collaborations with other blockchain networks, emphasizing the interoperability of Midnight. As a privacy layer for $XRP, Midnight could redefine how the blockchain ecosystem manages sensitive data. Hoskinson also proposed a formal collaboration with Ripple to integrate the Midnight sidechain with Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin.
