According to Bloomberg, Italy plans to raise the capital gains tax on Bitcoin investments from 26% to 42%. Italian Deputy Minister of Finance Maurizio $Leo stated in a budget plan conference call in Rome that this move is due to the "phenomenon spreading." Previously, the Italian government aimed to raise €3.50 billion (approximately $3.80 billion) in budget funds by imposing additional taxes on banks and insurance companies, noting that most of the amount would be collected through delays in tax relief.
