Former FTX executive Ryan Salame has begun serving his prison sentence of seven and a half years at a Maryland prison. Salame pled guilty to conspiring to make unlawful political contributions and conspiracy to operate an unlicensed money-transmitting business. He worked closely with former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried. Salame's lawyers asked the court to delay his prison time due to a dog bite injury, but the request was denied. Salame's partner, Michelle Bond, also faces charges in an unlawful campaign finance scheme. Salame plans to teach a course about digital assets and the economy while in prison.
