On the social platform X, on-chain detective ZachXBT accused crypto influencer Zion "Ansem" Thomas of promoting a series of meme coins, suggesting potential market manipulation. ZachXBT stated that Thomas promoted "hundreds of" low-market-cap meme coins to his 507 thousand followers, which could have an excessive impact on the prices of these tokens. He specifically mentioned tokens such as BODEN, HOBBES, ZEUS, and WYNN, as well as some celebrity meme coins. Thomas countered that he recommended Dogwifhat (WIF) when its market cap was only 100 thousand dollars, and that coin later reached a market cap of 4.80 billion dollars. He argued that this was far better than recommending utility tokens like Chainlink (LINK), which has dropped 90% against Bitcoin this year. ZachXBT further pointed out that most of the low-market-cap tokens recommended by Thomas have significantly depreciated. Data shows that BODEN has dropped nearly 99% since its peak in April, while HOBBES, ZEUS, and WYNN have also decreased by about 98%.
