Theta Labs has launched a mobile version of EdgeCloud, enabling AI video detection.

The entertainment-focused blockchain project Theta Network's development team, Theta Labs, has launched the mobile version of EdgeCloud, allowing Android users to contribute spare GPU power to the Theta EdgeCloud network and earn TFUEL tokens. The team stated that Theta EdgeCloud has reduced the cost of GPU-intensive tasks by over 50%, providing scalable and decentralized artificial intelligence model training and inference services. For the first time, the Theta team has implemented a video object detection AI model (VOD_AI) running on consumer-grade Android mobile devices, offering real computation at the edge and achieving high scalability and coverage. VOD_AI is a computer vision technology that scans video frames to find potential objects and draws bounding boxes around them, utilizing artificial intelligence to analyze video frames for object recognition. This process is similar to how the human visual cortex operates.
