According to a report by cryptonews on September 10th, Franz Bergmüller, CEO of Amina, a Swiss crypto bank, announced that the company is applying for a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license from the Austrian Financial Market Authority. Bergmüller emphasized that before operating in Austria, Amina needs to build a new team. He stated, 'We are close to reaching breakeven, but currently, we prioritize growth investments.'
Amina, formerly known as SEBA Bank, established its headquarters in Zug, Switzerland, in April 2022. This application is related to the Crypto-Assets Market (MiCA) regulations implemented by the EU in June. Bergmüller revealed that the company plans to expand its European operations and mentioned a strong demand for crypto-backed loans, with multiple crypto startups waiting in line to open traditional bank accounts.
