TechFlow news, August 19, according to Cointelegraph, Dunamu, the operator of Upbit, has reported that its employees and executives earn more than those at Korea's four major banks. According to data from the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS), the average salary for Dunamu employees in the first half of 2024 was 133.73 million KRW (approximately 99.50 thousand USD), while the average salary for employees at major banks was 116.00 million KRW (approximately 86.70 thousand USD).
This salary increase is attributed to the outstanding market performance in 2024, especially after the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved the first spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF), which significantly increased interest in virtual assets. Dunamu's consolidated sales in the first quarter of 2024 reached 531.10 billion KRW (approximately 400 million USD), a 60.5% increase in operating income compared to the fourth quarter of 2023.
