Dunamu, the operator of South Korean crypto exchange Upbit, reported a significant increase in employee earnings, surpassing those of major bank staff in the country. In the first half of 2024, Dunamu employees earned an average of 133.73 million won ($99,500), compared to the average bank staff salary of 116 million won ($86,700). This increase is attributed to the company's strong performance, with consolidated sales reaching $400 million in Q1 2024, a 60.5% increase from the previous quarter. The rise in earnings was further supported by the U.S. SEC's approval of the first spot Bitcoin ETFs, boosting interest in digital assets and enhancing Dunamu's financial results.
