Memecoins, often seen as a gateway to the cryptocurrency world, are currently enjoying popularity similar to past trends like ICOs and NFTs, according to industry executives. At a panel discussion in Canada, Jelena Djuric, CEO of Appchain Noble, expressed skepticism about the longevity of memecoins, likening their fate to that of ICOs and NFTs which saw explosive growth followed by significant declines. The panel highlighted that while memecoins serve as an attractive entry point for new investors, the high returns they offer may not be sustainable. Dean Skurka, president of WonderFi, emphasized the importance of embracing these trends to foster community and retail engagement in the crypto space. Meanwhile, Maxwell Nicholson, CEO of Blossom, noted that the bear market has prompted investors to diversify their portfolios, moving towards more stable investments after experiencing volatility.
