TechFlow news, the parallel EVM blockchain Eclipse Foundation announced that the Eclipse mainnet is officially open to developers, and will hold the first hackathon "Total Eclipse Challenge" from August 7-21, with a prize pool of nearly $50,000, covering five tracks: DeFi, gaming, consumer applications, meme coins, and infrastructure.
Developers can obtain RPC access through documentation and cross-chain ETH to Eclipse via CLI. The mainnet is currently in its initial phase, with plans to gradually upgrade to a fully decentralized rollup. The next phase will open the mainnet to the public, by which time at least the withdrawal function will be enabled.
As the first SVM (Solana Virtual Machine) L2 solution on Ethereum, Eclipse aims to combine Solana's high-speed performance with Ethereum's liquidity advantages.
