Railgun successfully prevented Inferno Drainer from transferring over 530 thousand US dollars worth of WETH.
According to MistTrack monitoring, the notorious wallet theft group Inferno Drainer attempted to transfer their stolen 174.1261 WETH (approximately 53.3 thousand US dollars) through the privacy protocol Railgun. However, this action was blocked by Railgun, which blacklisted the relevant address, forcing them to send back these tokens to Inferno's original wallet address.
Railgun contributor Alan Scott Jr stated that Inferno maliciously attempted to use an Ethereum-based privacy protocol but was rejected by Railgun's automated Private Proof of Innocence (Private POI) system. Scott stated, "Once the Private POI system is activated, these tokens can only be returned to the attacker's address." (Cointelegraph)
