Verida, a developer of the DePIN network, has successfully raised $5 million in a seed funding round to enhance user data privacy in the era of Big Tech AI. The funding, which included contributions from O-DE Capital Partners, ChaiTech Ventures, Simurg Labs, Gate Labs, HASH CIB, Bison Capital, Amesten Capital, and Mysten Labs’ Evan Cheng, will be used to develop alternative data storage solutions. These solutions aim to prevent the misuse of internet users' data for training AI. The raised funds will also support the development of Verida's infrastructure for personal data ownership, offering decentralized storage and encryption. This initiative is part of Verida's effort to disrupt the AI landscape by empowering users to control their own data.
