Juan Tacuri, a key promoter of the Forcount cryptocurrency Ponzi scheme, has pleaded guilty to wire fraud conspiracy in New York. Tacuri, who was instrumental in defrauding $8.4 million from investors, primarily Spanish-speaking, will forfeit nearly $4 million and real estate as part of his plea deal. The scheme falsely promised high returns from cryptocurrency trading and mining. Tacuri's sentencing is set for September 24, 2024, with a potential 20-year prison term. His co-conspirators, Francisley Da Silva and Antonia Perez Hernandez, have not been convicted. The U.S. Attorney's Office emphasized their commitment to pursuing Ponzi schemers.
