DAPPER LABS reaches a $4 million settlement in the NBA TOP SHOT NFT lawsuit. According to DECRYPT, DAPPER LABS, the company behind NBA TOP SHOT and other popular blockchain collectibles, has settled a years-long class-action lawsuit with disgruntled customers who claimed that TOP SHOT NFTs were illegally offered securities. As part of the settlement, DAPPER LABS' CEO ROHAM GHAREGOZLOU stated that the company will pay $4 million to the lawsuit plaintiffs. These funds include monetary relief for the plaintiffs' claims and will cover legal fees. In return, if the settlement is approved, the plaintiffs will waive any future rights to claim that TOP SHOT NFTs are securities.
