Ledger has started shipping its new Ledger Stax hardware wallet to customers who pre-ordered it, following a significant delay. The product, developed in partnership with iPod creator Tony Fadell, was initially scheduled for release in March 2023 but faced delays due to manufacturing issues. Chief Experience Officer Ian Rogers highlighted that the extra time allowed for the operating system to be refined with more features. Despite the delays, Rogers emphasized the successful realization of their vision for Stax, which was unveiled nearly two years ago. The device is now shipping in its version 1.4 state, which is more refined than typical new devices. Fadell's involvement was crucial in designing the wallet, balancing ease of use with Ledger's focus on security and self-custody of digital assets.
