Decentralized leverage protocol Gearbox announced in a post on X that GEAR has almost entered a state of full circulation in practice, with the maximum amount of freely circulating tokens reached. This is because 40% of the token shares are held within the DAO and do not belong to anyone, only being used at a rate of 3% per year for various donation and funding programs. This rate is even lower than the common staking inflation rate on Layer1.
