Harvest Global CEO Tongli Han mentioned the possibility of offering Bitcoin and Ether ETFs to mainland Chinese investors through the Stock Connect program if conditions are favorable in the next two years. Harvest Global, along with China Asset Management and Bosera/Hashkey, launched Asia's first spot Bitcoin and Ether ETFs on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange last month, aiming to position the city as a global crypto hub. The ETF Connect scheme, which began in 2014, currently does not include crypto ETFs for mainland investors, and China's strict stance on crypto makes the approval of such offerings uncertain. Despite a lukewarm debut, with $11.2 million in trading volume, expectations for the growth of these ETFs in Asia remain, although challenges persist due to regulatory hurdles and market size limitations.
