Former Los Angeles Mayor Joins Coinbase Global Advisory Board as Policy Advisor

Former Los Angeles Mayor ANTONIO VILLARAIGOSA has joined COINBASE's Global Advisory Board as a policy advisor. He will provide advice to the COINBASE leadership team to advance 'global economic freedom.' COINBASE Chief Policy Officer FARYAR SHIRZAD emphasized that the traditional financial system does not work for everyone, especially those who are unbanked, including 25% of Black and Hispanic households. VILLARAIGOSA's role will not include lobbying for COINBASE but will involve providing advisory suggestions to promote a fair and sound regulatory framework to serve U.S. customers, highlighting the need for regulatory protection for cryptocurrency participants.
