Antonio Villaraigosa, the former mayor of Los Angeles, has been hired as a policy advisor to cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase and will join the company’s global advisory board. Coinbase Chief Policy Officer Faryar Shirzad said Villaraigosa will advise the company’s leadership team to advance global economic freedom.

According to Blockworks, former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has been hired as a policy advisor to Coinbase. Villaraigosa will join the cryptocurrency exchange's global advisory board.
