Binance Wallet has announced support for Bitcoin Atomical ARC-20 assets, integrating these assets into its native Web3 wallet through the Inscriptions Marketplace. The Atomicals protocol, mirroring Ethereum's ERC-20 standard, enables the minting, transferring, and updating of nonfungible tokens (NFTs) on the Bitcoin blockchain. This integration allows for a variety of uses beyond NFTs, including web hosting, file storage, atomic swaps, and more. To celebrate, Binance is offering zero-fee trading on ARC-20 tokens until June 2, 2024. Additionally, the update includes support for BEVM, a decentralized Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible Bitcoin layer-two solution. This move by Binance follows similar adoptions by other exchanges and is part of a broader trend of Bitcoin closing the technological gap with smart contract blockchains through innovations like Atomicals, Ordinals, Inscriptions, and Runes. The integration of these technologies into Bitcoin's ecosystem is rapidly expanding its utility and maintaining its relevance in the face of emerging blockchain technologies.
