Early Bitcoin investor Roger Ver has been arrested on suspicion of tax fraud, accused of email fraud, tax evasion, and filing false tax returns. Ver reportedly concealed ownership of Bitcoin from the IRS, resulting in a $48 million loss. Despite renouncing his U.S. citizenship in 2014, Ver is still required to report global capital gains to the U.S. and pay taxes. He was arrested in Spain over the weekend and may face extradition to the U.S. Ver, formerly a resident of Santa Clara, California, obtained citizenship in Saint Kitts and Nevis and is known online as the 'Bitcoin Jesus,' the former CEO of Bitcoin.com.
