Avalanche integrates with Stripe for fiat-to-crypto onboarding, allowing Avalanche C-Chain users to buy $AVAX directly within Web3 apps using a Stripe-supplied widget. This integration, announced in an April 29 blog post by Ava Labs, enables verified Stripe users to purchase $AVAX and send it to their wallets. Eight Avalanche Web3 apps, including the Avalanche Core Portfolio app, GoGoPool, Avvy Username Service, The Arena, ZeroOne, Halliday Wallet, Pakt, and blockchain games DeFi Kingdoms and Shrapnel, have integrated this feature. Developers can embed a customizable widget into their apps, facilitating fiat to crypto conversion via Stripe. This aims to solve the 'cold start problem' in Web3, where users lack funds in their wallets for transactions. Stripe handles KYC, payments, fraud, and compliance, allowing developers to focus on app development. At launch, users can create Avalanche accounts with Google or Apple ID and fund them via bank transfers, debit, or credit cards. Akash Gupta of Ava Labs believes this will boost crypto adoption by bridging the gap between crypto and fiat, offering seamless onboarding for digital currency transactions. Additionally, Stripe announced integrating stablecoin payments using Circle's $USDC on Solana, Ethereum, and Polygon.
