Laser Digital and Nomura Group have co-led a $5 million funding round for the zkSync gaming development firm Tevaera. The round saw participation from a wide range of investors including Hashkey Capital, Fenbushi Capital, Matter Labs, Draper Dragon, Crypto.com Capital, Cogitent Ventures, Faculty Group, DWF Labs, Morningstar Ventures, DCF God, Momentum, GBV, Selini, Mapleblock, CoinSwitch, GD10 Capital, Aquanow, and others. Tevaera plans to use the funding to expand its team and launch a Layer 3 gaming chain on zkSync, aiming to onboard 2 million players and 12 game developers by the end of the year. The company, which has already launched its mainnet zkSync Era, a Layer 2 protocol on Ethereum, offers Web3 games like "Guardian Islands" and "Teva Run", along with an NFT marketplace and decentralized exchange.
