This partnership, announced on March 19, includes an investment from Square Enix to help expand and scale the Hyperplay game store. The investment amount was not disclosed. As part of the partnership, Square Enix's Metamask-based art experience, 'Symbiogenesis,' will launch on the Hyperplay storefront. This move is part of Square Enix's broader strategy to modernize its organizational structure to support blockchain, Web3, and AI technologies. Hyperplay's founder, JacobC.eth, stated that the investment will help Hyperplay revolutionize the gaming sector by addressing issues with legacy distribution platforms and enabling new business models that benefit both players and developers. Hyperplay plans to continue expanding its Web3-native game distribution platform, including aggregating more game stores, bringing Hyperplay to more platforms, and opening new distribution channels. Additionally, Hyperplay is planning to announce expanded access for Mac users and an upcoming integration with Amazon to bring Prime users into the Hyperplay ecosystem, offering exclusive benefits and perks.
