South Korean gaming giant COM2US led the investment, with participation from ANDREESSEN HOROWITZ (A16Z), BITKRAFT VENTURES, CYPHER CAPITAL, BLOCORE, GOAL VENTURES, and WAGMI VENTURES. The studio previously raised $8.5 million in 2020, with A16Z and BITKRAFT also participating in the investment. MADWORLD is scheduled to be launched to the public in 2024 and is currently undergoing testing on iOS and Android platforms. Its founder, TRAVIS BOATMAN, is a veteran in the mobile gaming industry and has held executive positions at ZYNGA and ELECTRONIC ARTS.
