Utila, an institutional crypto platform, has successfully raised $11.5 million in a seed funding round co-led by NFX and Wing VC. The funding, which also saw participation from Framework Ventures and notable angel investors such as Balaji Srinivasan, Charlie Songhurst, and Surojit Chatterjee, will be used to accelerate product development and expand the team. Utila's non-custodial, chain-agnostic wallet has facilitated over $3 billion in transactions for institutional investors and crypto-native firms in the past six months. The platform aims to simplify the management of digital assets for institutions and developers, addressing operational, regulatory, and security challenges in crypto adoption. Utila's technology, based on multi-party computation (MPC) key management, enables quick onboarding and integration with clients' exchange accounts, DeFi, and bank accounts. Its customers include hedge funds, OTC desks, market makers, prime brokers, custodians, exchanges, and token issuers.
