Manta Network, a zero-knowledge proof powered layer-2 blockchain, faced a significant distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack, with over 135 million RPC requests targeting its nodes on January 18. Despite the attack, co-founder Kenny Li assured that the blockchain was running safely and user funds were secure, although communication with the blockchain was temporarily limited. The attack coincided with the successful listing of Manta tokens on several exchanges, including Binance, Bithumb, and KuCoin. The token's value stood at $2.27, with a fully diluted market cap of $2.27 billion, and over $686 million worth of Manta was traded shortly after listing. P0X Labs, the team behind Manta Network, had previously raised $25 million in a Series A funding round and launched the Manta Pacific testnet, which transitioned to mainnet in September 2023. The testnet saw the creation of 150,000 wallets and over 3.5 million transactions. Additionally, Manta Atlantic's NFT private offering platform launched in April 2023, minting over 300,000 zero-knowledge Soulbond tokens with partners such as Arbitrum and Galxe.
