Nervos Network

Nervos Network (CKB) is a decentralized blockchain platform that distinguishes itself by dividing its architecture into two key layers. The layer 1, known as the Common Knowledge Base (CKB), functions as a verification and trust layer, offering secure and decentralized storage for assets, identities, and data, and extending this trust to higher layers. It also serves as a "Store of Assets" blockchain, focusing on state preservation. Meanwhile, the layer 2 is dedicated to high-performance transactions, scalability, and privacy features. Economically, CKB is designed to ensure sustainable security and decentralization, making Nervos a robust crypto-economic network. The CKB system combines on-chain state management with off-chain computation, allowing for a flexible balance between performance and decentralization.

The unique Cell Model is central to CKB, where data and assets are stored in cells that can be updated through transactions governed by scripts. This model ensures the integrity of the system by requiring data to be consumed and replaced, thus maintaining immutability. Moreover, CKB’s VM (Virtual Machine), based on the RISC-V instruction set, executes these scripts, enabling complex smart contracts and decentralized applications (dApps). With these features, Nervos provides a scalable, flexible, and interoperable platform that supports various blockchain ecosystems while enabling the preservation of assets in a secure and decentralized manner.
