Initia

Initia is a next-generation network designed for interwoven rollups, combining a Layer 1 base chain with a customizable Layer 2 ecosystem. By making clear, opinionated choices around infrastructure elements like data availability, interoperability, and oracle integration, Initia reduces developer decision fatigue. This approach empowers teams to build application-specific blockchains with full-stack flexibility, while maintaining seamless connectivity across the broader application ecosystem.

At the heart of Initia’s architecture is the Interwoven Stack, which allows rollups to run in EVM, MoveVM, or WasmVM environments, achieving high throughput with 10,000 transactions per second and 500ms block times. These rollups are built on the Cosmos SDK, enabling customizable transaction ordering and internalization of MEV. Unlike fragmented multichain systems, Initia unifies the experience by embedding shared standards and enabling native interoperability across all chains.

Initia’s Layer 1 is secured through Enshrined Liquidity—an evolved Proof of Stake model where INIT tokens staked with validators also act as multichain liquidity. To align economic incentives, the Initia VIP program distributes INIT to ecosystem participants in a programmatic way. This mechanism helps rollups attract and retain users, while driving long-term demand for the INIT token and fostering a cooperative, aligned ecosystem.
