Lit Protocol Intro

Lit Protocol is a decentralized key management and private compute network designed to provide developers with secure cryptographic primitives in Web3. It offers decentralized signing, encryption/decryption, and private computation using a combination of Multi-Party Computation (MPC), Threshold Signature Schemes (TSS), and Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs). Lit decentralizes this process by splitting and encrypting keys across the network, ensuring there is no single point of failure. This architecture allows for programmable, automated, and verifiable key operations, supporting universal and user-owned accounts.

Lit’s technology powers a wide range of applications, including Web3 wallets, digital identity systems, DeFi, cross-chain interoperability, AI agents, and data oracles. Projects like Collab.Land, Lens Protocol, and Request Network leverage Lit for secure signing, access control, and automation.
