Axelar

Axelar is a decentralized cross-chain communication network designed to enhance interoperability across Web3 by seamlessly connecting heterogeneous blockchains. It enables the secure transfer of assets and the composability of programs across multiple blockchains, creating an optimized experience for both developers and end-users. The architecture of Axelar is composed of two key layers: the network layer and the API layer.

At its core, the Axelar network is a permissionless overlay network built on a proof-of-stake consensus, providing Turing-complete cross-chain communication. This allows it to securely transmit data and assets between different blockchains. On top of this, Axelar offers APIs and protocols that developers can utilize to build applications that operate across any number of interconnected chains.
