According to a CoinDesk report, a new report from blockchain analysis firm Chainalysis shows that 2025 could be a record year for cryptocurrency theft. If the trend continues, it is estimated that more than $4.3 billion will be stolen from cryptocurrency platforms. Chainalysis stated that hackers have already stolen more than $2.17 billion from cryptocurrency services in the first half of this year alone. This exceeds the total amount stolen in 2024 and is 17% higher than the amount stolen in the same period in 2022. 2022 was the worst year for cryptocurrency theft in history, with $3.8 billion worth of cryptocurrency stolen.
