Mihailo Bjelic, co-founder of Polygon, has announced his resignation from the boards of Polygon Labs and the Polygon Foundation, marking the departure of the third co-founder. Bjelic stated that as the project evolves, so does its vision, and he can no longer contribute to Polygon to the best of his ability, though he remains confident in the project's success. Founded in 2017 and originally named $Matic Network, Polygon is a representative Ethereum Layer 2 solution, dedicated to blockchain research and development, particularly making progress in zero-knowledge proofs and proof-of-stake. At the end of 2024, Polygon launched a token migration plan to swap $MATIC tokens for $POL tokens at a 1:1 ratio, aiming to expand the token's utility within the network. Previously, the other two co-founders, Jaynti Kanani and Anurag Arjun, had also stepped down from active roles. Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal expressed deep affection and respect for Bjelic. The current price of the $POL token is approximately $0.24, down about 3.7%.
