📊 Data: Nearly half of South Korea's "crypto whales 🐳" are investors aged 50+.
Story Protocol CEO and co-founder Seung Yoon Lee @storysylee posted that in South Korea, cryptocurrency is one of the few things that can bring older and younger people together. According to statistics from the Dong-A Ilbo in South Korea, the age structure of cryptocurrency investors in South Korea is undergoing a significant change. The data shows that the number of investors in the 50-year-old age group increased by 56.4% year-on-year, reaching 1.75 million, and the number of investors aged 60 and above increased from 371,800 to 636,700, an increase of 52.6%. It is worth noting that among the group holding more than 1 billion South Korean won (approximately $760K) in cryptocurrency assets ("whale" investors), nearly half are over 50 years old.
