Lazarus Group, a North Korea-linked hacking group, has evolved its tactics to target job seekers in the cryptocurrency sector, particularly within centralized finance (CeFi), using a method called 'ClickFix.' This new approach is an adaptation of their previous 'Contagious Interview' campaign, now focusing on non-technical roles like marketing and business development by impersonating major crypto firms. The group creates fake job application portals to lure candidates, prompting them to run PowerShell commands under the guise of troubleshooting, which downloads malware. This tactic exploits the professional aspirations of individuals in the crypto job market. Additionally, the FBI has attributed a $1.5 billion attack on Bybit to Lazarus, where fake job offers were used to install malware on staff computers.
